Getting started

Which iPhones and iPads can scan?

Any iPhone or iPad with a LiDAR scanner: iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max or later Pro models, and iPad Pro from 2020 on, running iOS 17 or later. Other devices can open plans but not scan.

How do I scan a floor?

Open the building, tap Scan this floor and read the tips. Start in a doorway and walk slowly along the walls, pointing at the corners. Tap Done with this room, check it, and walk into the next room while the app keeps scanning.

Why should I scan the whole floor in one go?

Rooms scanned in the same session share the same position, so they join up exactly. If the app is closed between rooms, rescan the floor in one go.

Accuracy

How accurate is it?

Usually within a few centimetres (about an inch) per room, which is good for planning, quotes and furniture. It isn't a survey: measure anything critical by hand.

A wall, door or window is missing

Glass walls, mirrors and dark rooms are hard for the scanner. Turn the lights on, scan the room again and point at each corner and opening. You can also add or fix doors and windows by hand.

Your data

Where are my scans kept?

Only on your iPhone. There's no account. Deleting the app deletes your scans, so export the plans you want to keep. See the privacy policy.

Can I delete something I uploaded?

Yes: Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Delete my uploaded data now, or write to [email protected].
